My attention was obviously distracted because the late arrivals were right in front of us.Īs if that weren’t enough, there were terrible issues with the sound system during the first half. I can’t imagine how distracting that must have been to the performers but they continued without a hitch. One group of 12 people came in and stood up in the first two rows of Orchestra and tried to figure out where to sit for FIVE whole minutes. From the moment the ushers opened the doors, it was a mess and they continued to let people until 30 minutes into the show, even while the performers were singing. We’ve been looking forward to seeing this show for a long time and were delighted to see that the national tour was going to be in town during our vacation. We went to see Dear Evan Hansen last night. Thank you to all staff who made our stay memorable! Overall we had an amazing time.wish we would have spent more time here and less in the Keys. Also love the grand lobby area (and the mini aviary with the little finches was a delight for this bird enthusiast!). Even if a lot of other people are there, it doesn't feel crowded thanks to it's sheer size. By afternoon it had warmed up enough to go in the pool, which is gigantic and beautiful. The price was extremely reasonable (about half the cost of the average cabana in Miami Beach), and our attendant (unfortunately I don't remember his name) was very courteous and checked on us often without being obtrusive. The cabana experience was also very enjoyable. You can imagine our surprise when at 7:45am, they told us they had a room ready and we could actually check in! After little sleep on the overnight flight, it was so amazing to be able to go straight to our junior suite and lay down for a couple hours before going to the pool. We took a red-eye flight out and arrived at the hotel around 7:45am, fully intending to just check our bags at the front desk and wander around until our cabana became available at 10am. Superb experience in a beautiful historic property! We drove out here for the Sunday Brunch while staying in Miami Beach last year, and were so impressed with it then that we decided to stay here this year for one night following our flight out before we drove down to the Keys. Expect to spend around 1.5 to 2 hours fully exploring the mansion and gardens.

The villa has featured in several movies and is also a top wedding destination. A dream place for photographers, art and architecture lovers, and history buffs. The walk through the gardens is pretty level, with occasional stairs. Manatees were around the docks! We didn't do the audio tour the information on the placards is good enough to tell the history of its construction and some environmental factors that threaten it today! There's a cafe shop on site, and the food is okay. Morning is the best time to go there are fewer people in the morning, so I recommend planning for the morning on a week day to avoid crow. The gardens are stunning and magnificently maintained.

The architecture is from the Italian renaissance period with a modern touch.Įxquisitely preserved and very impressive, this residence was established with the primary goal of entertaining guests.īeautiful architecture and interior with amazingly well-preserved furniture, tapestries, and murals. The villa was built in the 1920s and was a technologically advanced house for that era. It's worth every penny!- Ticket was $25, and you can only buy them online.
